Here are some questions we get asked frequently to help you. If you don't see an answer here please contact us and we'll answer you directly.
Who can drive a Brighton Camper Van?
Our campervans come with fully-comprehensive self-drive insurance included as standard. This is open to anyone aged 21-79 who has held a full licence for 2+ years with no more than 6 points in the last three years.
We have an easy online hire form for each driver to complete which we'll email you on confirmation of your booking.
Is there an excess on the insurance?
Yes, the excess is tiered as follows:
- Aged 25-75: £650
- Aged 23 or 24: £950
- Aged 21 or 22, or 76-79: £1250
We take the insurance excess as a payment by credit/debit card or BACS and it is refunded within ten days of your last day of hire.
Unfortunately our insurers can't offer a waiver / reduction but there are a number of third-party waiver schemes available that we accept, such as Questor or icarhire.
Brr, won't it be chilly if we go in the winter?
Our campervans are well insulated and come with an Eberspacher secondary heater. This is diesel powered so you can have heat wherever you are, on site or not.
There's lots of advantages to campervanning out of season: better hire rates on our vans; better rates on sites; and less people competing for site space!
What about power?
Our campervan leisure batteries are excellent and can run the fridge, lights, 12v charge sockets etc for several days without charge.
However the vans also have a 16a hookup socket and come with a complimentary cable for when you're parked on a site. This not only powers everything in the van (saving and charging your battery) but also activates the 240v 13a plug socket too.
These campers look perfect - how do I book?
We recommend booking your van with us as early as possible to ensure availability. To secure a booking we require a 50% deposit. The balance of the booking fee is required four weeks before your first day of hire.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, cheques and BACS. Unfortunately we cannot take cash for vehicle hires.
Drop us a line with your dates if you're ready to book or still have some questions!
What about fuel and oil on the road?
The camper will come with a full tank of diesel and we ask that you return the same. If you're dropping back to our Brighton base there's a garage less than a minute away. Shortfalls will be deducted from your deposit.
We ask that campers keep an eye on the oil, water and AdBlue levels on the road - don't worry, we'll show you how to check these if you're unsure. It's very unlikely you'll need to top any of them up.
We're going a long way - is there a mileage limit?
Nope - unlimited mileage is included free of charge!
What's included in these lovely vans?
Our hire rates include:
- EU & UK fully comprehensive insurance
- EU & UK 24 hour breakdown cover
- Unlimited mileage
- VAT at the current rate
- Self-drive insurance for 2 drivers. Additional drivers are just £10 per hire
- Gas bottle (first fill)
- Kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery etc
- Curtains
- 2 x mattress toppers, 2 x sheets, 2 x duvets and 4 x pillows
- Eberspacher secondary heater
- 16a site hookup socket & cable
You'll need to bring food and clothing and hopefully not much else!
We want to go travelling outside the UK - is that ok?
No problem! Our prices include EU insurance and breakdown cover as standard and at no additional cost. The insurance covers you within mainland EU countries. Unfortunately we can't provide cover outside the EU.
Can you deliver the van to us or to an airport? Or can we drop it off somewhere else?
Of course! Just drop us a line and let us know what you need and we'd be happy to work it out for you.
Where do I pick up and drop off?
We're based at Ooosh! Tours Ltd, which is easily accessible by train, bus or car and is just outside Brighton.
Can we leave a car with you whilst we're in one of your campers?
Usually that should be fine. Please get in touch first to check. If we can accommodate there's usually no charge to do so.
What if we are having such a good time we want to extend our holiday?
Please get in touch as soon as possible - we'd love to make it work for you if we can but it depends on our availability.
